Be Inspired - On the Road

Words to Inspire

Somewhere on your journey don't forget to turn around and enjoy the view.

Idea to Inspire

I love to travel by car. The easiest way to clear your mind and be inspired is to hop in a car and enjoy the views from the road.

Enjoy these amazing shots of roads from Flickr.

Be Inspired - The Dock

Words to Inspire

“I firmly believe that all human beings have access to extraordinary energies and powers. Judging from accounts of mystical experience, heightened creativity, or exceptional performance by athletes and artists, we harbor a greater life than we know. There we go beyond those limited and limiting patterns of body, emotions, volition, and understanding that have been keeping us in dry-dock. Instead we become available to our capacity for a larger life in body, mind, and spirit. In this state we know great torrents of delight.”
Jean Houston

Idea to Inspire

Water is a wonderful source of inspiration. If you have an opportunity to get near a lake, pond, or a river take a few minutes on a dock and enjoy the calm.

Be Inspired - Flowers

Words to Inspire

“All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today”
Unknown

Idea to Inspire

Blooming flowers are very inspiring. Fill a few beautiful containers with flowers, and place them in all the rooms to go into regularly. Every time you walk into the room the flowers will smell wonderful, and seeing them will make you smile.

Be Inspired

Words to Inspire
“Life is all about timing... the unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable become available, the unattainable... attainable. Have the patience, wait it out It's all about timing.”
Stacey Charter

Idea to Inspire
When are working a big projects, or even daily projects you need to find ways to inject creativity breaks. Today I have some ideas to help you stay in a creative mood even when you are busy on another project.

If you have 5 - 10 minutes

Try doodling. Keep paper and a pencil or pen nearby so you can create quick and easy sketches. Doodles are little pieces of our subconscious they are unique to us and represent our own creativity.

Write a short poem. Sitting in a office waiting for an appointment try a Found Poem. They are easy and fun to do. You could also write about what is going on around you, and then use these poems as inspiration on your next project.

If you have 30 minutes

Write a letter to a friend. Pull out your nice stationary or create a fun card, and take a few minutes to reconnect with a old friend.

If you have 60 minutes

Take out some supplies and enjoy the time creating a project. Maybe try some new ideas you have been thinking about but never make time for.

Here are a few more posts about making time for art.

Thursday Thoughts

What is the creative life?
Our way of looking at the world.

You don't have to change your wardrobe, politics,
religion or social circle you only have to change one thing:

Instead of looking at the world as it is
look at everything as being full of possibilities.

Instead of seeing what it is,
look at what it could be.

You need confidence that creativity is out there,
ready to be accessed, instead of being an
elusive trait buried deep inside.
