“Wisdom is the abstract of the past, but beauty is the promise of the future”
Oliver Wendell Holmes
Idea to Inspire
Create a piece of art with no plan. Use a variety of colors, add texture, and enjoy the process of freely creating with no destination in mind.
Photos to Inspire
Art can be inspiring. Abstract art, whether you like it or not, is a showcase of colors, textures, and shapes. I hope today's abstract art collection from a variety of artists on Etsy inspires you.

ReplyDeleteI like abstract art, gets the mind flowing.
Great pics.
Abstract art does inspire a lot of ideas.
DeleteUnique pieces! Abstract art has never been something I have gravitated towards, but it is always interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt sound warmer in Chicago than Boston. It is so strange leaving the house in the morning and no jacket in March!
Your right Val, there is always something interesting to see in abstract art even when you don't like it.
DeleteWe are having another record breaking day in Chicago 86 degrees, I had to break out my sandals today.
I appreciate abstract art very much. I have two pieces in the living room that go very well with the clean lines of our furniture. This always surprises people who know of my work, which is very girly and nostalgic :)
ReplyDeleteI bet your two paintings look great!
DeleteI love the third one shown. It draws me in

Christie, that was the first one I choose when I was looking on Etsy. I love it too!
DeleteVery pretty. I love abstract art because it gives so much freedom of expression and color.
ReplyDeleteSadie, that's why I love it so much too!
DeleteBeautiful! This reminds me that I've been meaning to try to create a big piece for behind our couch for quite some time now. The getting ideas and getting started part is difficult!
ReplyDeleteThat is the hardest part for me to Nancy. Sometimes you just have to start and don't think. If you don't like it in the end you can paint over the canvas. I hope you share your painting on your blog one day soon.
DeleteLol ~ I'm not always sure what to make of abstract art... ;) I do love the colors in the top one though, they caught my eye right away! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mom...I'm not always sure what to make of abstract art, but #3 and #4 are pretty cool! :) Great finds!
