A mind that is relaxed and clear of clutter is a creative mind.
There are many benefits to taking time everyday to meditate:
• Improved concentration - making you more productive and inspired
• To aid in letting go of the little things - if you get upset or anxious easily this is a great way to calm your mind.
• Better health - there have been many studies that show the benefits of meditating on your health.
• Better understanding of your inner self and your life's purpose.
I like to meditate when I get up in the morning. It helps me prepare my mind for the work I need to do for the day, and to start my day off in a relaxed state of mind. I have has some of my most creative ideas during those few minutes I take to meditate.
You can meditate anytime of day, and for as little as 5 minutes. Choose a time that works best for you, and try to stick to a schedule. Once you start and experience the benefits of practicing it will easily become a habit.
Starting a meditation practice is very simple. All you need is a chair and a quite space. There is no right or wrong way to meditate. Do what feels right for you, because you should always be comfortable and relaxed when you are meditating.
If you have never meditated before there is is wealth of information all over the web to help you get started. YouTube has a variety of videos on how to start, as well as guided meditation if you find it difficult to clear mind. Your local library will also have books, Cd's, and other information to help you get going as well.
I highly recommend giving meditation a try! It will give you a boost of creativity, and peace of mind. It takes very little time out of your day, and it will be worth your effort.
Do you meditate?
This is definately something I could benefit from and do not do.
ReplyDeleteI do ... on my long train ride it is easy to just put on the headphones (soft music) and get comfortable. It helps to clear the mind and relax before I start my day.
ReplyDeleteI only fall into a meditative state when I'm making stuff, otherwise I fall asleep too easily. I had a boss that meditated in his office every day from 5-5:30.
ReplyDeleteWith all the hustle and bustle that goes on in our house every single day, I have no time to meditate. I wish I did have the time, because it's so hard to keep my mind clear. I know meditation would help.

I try to do a brief guided meditation early every morning, before the hustle and bustle begins, and then write 3 things I'm thankful for in my gratitude journal each night.
ReplyDeleteI need to start making time for this daily, thank you for the reminder. :)
