Why not start a motivations ritual.
Do you have something that you do when you need a little motivation?
We have our everyday rituals like starting our day with a cup of tea or coffee, organizing our work space, reading and answering emails. We know when we go through this process that are day is beginning.
Try coming up a ritual that is yours and yours alone. Something that signals to you its time to get started, or put in that extra effort. It could be something as simple as reading a motivating quote, listening to a certain song, or taking a walk.
Whatever you choose as your ritual do it every time you need a little motivation. The more you do, the faster it becomes a habit.
It's my rital of my second cup of coffee-- after the kids are off to school and the house is mine!
ReplyDeleteI turn off the TV and the Internets ... they are motivation-suckers!

Never really thought about it, but I do have some songs on my ipod that get me going whenever I hear them. I think I may have to make one my "theme" song to get me going when I need that extra push!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, I'm not sure I have any set 'motivators'... I tend to just go with the flow. If it's 'time to work on something' I think I just naturally feel motivated. If I try and force it however, I don't think there exists anything that will get me moving! ;)
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I'm having trouble getting motivated, I take my pooch for a walk first... then I feel refreshed and somehow, ready to keep moving forward... :)
ReplyDeleteA browse through Etsy and reading my favorite blogs is great motivation for me :)
ReplyDeleteI think I have fallen in a kind of motivation ritual by going through important websites I am following. By learning new information I get into the mood for creating myself! Awesome advice, as always!
ReplyDeleteUgh, I need one of these! Lately I've been manic some days with work and just so slow going other days. It'd be nice to get a grip on some consistency here!
ReplyDeleteI have a few, tho somedays when life gets busy it can be hard to implement them!! Must try harder!
