Afternoon at the Mall

This past weekend my husband, daughter, and I went to one of the larger Mall's in the Chicago area so my daughter could do a little shopping.

I will admit that as I have gotten older shopping does not appeal to me as much as it did when I was young. I used to spend a whole day in the Mall with my sister, we would make an event of it, even when we did not have money to spend.

It has also become important to me to be comfortable when I go shopping. It was really interesting to me how many woman shop in high heel shoes.

So here's a question for you:
When you go to the mall / shopping, is dressing in style more important then dressing for comfort, and do you ever wear heels when you go shopping?

I would love to hear your thoughts. I was trying to dress hip in my comfortable clothes and shoes, but I will admit I did feel a little old hanging out in the mall this past weekend.

Have a story of hanging in out in the mall, please share.

  1. Actually, malls make me anxious. I get so claustrophobic in there, especially when its crowded. So, usually I go frumpy, try to park near where I want to shop, and get out a.s.a.p.!!

  2. I love shopping, but I would NEVER shop in high heels. I like wearing high heels and I wear them almost everyday. If I shopped in heels, I think I would grow to hate both (high heels & shopping). Comfy and cute is a great style for shopping.

  3. I dress for comfort all of the time! I took my kids school shopping this past year to a mall, but usually I shop local or buy online. I can't tell you the last time I wore high heels - eek!

  4. When we lived in Orange County, I couldn't go to the mall unless I was dressed to the nines!! Seriously everyone was so dressed up in their expensive clothes, I felt like white trash if I wore jeans and sneakers. But in Michigan and Texas, I can just be myself and blend in with all the other comfortable shoppers :)
