  1. Hi!
My name is Chelsea, and my mom's name is Karyn - we are Buy Me Love on etsy.com. My mom has been selling vintage clothing and lingerie on ebay for 8 years now, and we have just started listing some of those items on etsy:

We are also participating in the Christmas In July Sale this year, and this is the first day of our sale!

My mom had her last day of chemo and radiation 3 weeks ago today, and tomorrow is my birthday. It's a good week. :)

  3. I have a few things to share today:

    1. When my sister visited she brought me a bag of very cool items from my favorite recycled hardware store. Cool new stuff is being add to my Etsy shop almost daily.

    2. I am in the process of changing all the pictures in my Etsy shop. I have the first page done, stop by check it out and let me know what you think.

    3. I have spent the last few weeks trying to get my daughter motivated to choose some colleges to apply to, but she has not been much help. We are going on our first college visit next week and hopefully she will be more motivated after our visit. I will keep you posted.

  4. Well I have a show in November at a local gallery for which I will show between 30 and 50 smaller size collage/drawings.

A judged art show for which I will submit 3 works by August 1st.

A company in Spain has contacted me about designing 3 large wall stickers, (Very Excited about this!).

I ran an experimental Facebook ad, I really liked the outcome of the stats, I will use FB ads again, now that I have figured it out. It brought me more traffic than anything else I have done so far.

I have not had an artsale for a few weeks, it has been really really slow, but I am busy with future contracts and shows so I am a happy camper regardless.

I do want to mention a big summer long sale in my Etsy shop, trying to make room for more art. Here http://www.etsy.com/shop/trixiefishstabber?section_id=7126696

  5. Wow Trixie you have a lot going on! Even thou sales are slow it sounds like all your future plans are going to pay off.

I would love to know more about your Facebook ad and what worked for you. I have run them in the past but I did they were only OK for me.

    Good luck with everything!

  6. Hi - my name is Valerie from London (UK) and I've had my current shop (discerningchichi) on Etsy since last October, but have actually been on Etsy since 2007 (I had a previous shop blackrose1).
I'm doing a category on my blog about phenomenal women and just featured mixed media artist Lisa Ferrante who has a shop on Etsy. If anybody reading this would like to share their story do contact me either via my blog or if you have an Etsy shop - via convo.
    3. I turned 50 this year and still adjusting to that fact! It is a surreal feeling!

  7. Hi Valerie, great blog! Lisa Ferrante's work is amazing, what a nice feature. I am only a couple of years away from 50 and I am still adjusting to being in my 40's.

  9. Ha ha ha, bunch of 40 year olds! (me too). I love getting older for some reason, maybe I just love life everyday. My best friend ever died of a brain tumor in her late 40s, years ago. She would always call me before her birthday came, she went into morose, week long depressions about aging, I loved her dearly but I wish she stuck around for more birthdays....

About the FB ad. I set my limit at 2 bucks per day, did my targets as best I could and decided the experiment would end when I reached 10 bucks. So I ended up with 116 clicks out of almost 100k impressions. No sales.

Not worried about the sales, interested more in promoting my brand and driving traffic. Analytics tells me that I was up 42% for the week and bounce rate decreased a little.

Looking at it all I decided that I will use FB ads in the future, carefully planned. The ad will go directly to my Etsy and I will only run on monday, tues, wed. (weekend traffic really sucks). I want to do project wonderful too but I tried to design my ad there and was having problems so I need to get back to that soon for another experiment.

    Cheers TF

  10. Kelly, can't wait to read your article, what's it going to be about? Thanks for the book recommendation, I heard it was great.

Trixie, thanks for sharing the info on your FB ad. I am going to have to try one again soon. I run PW ads often, I like that they are inexpensive and I always get good views to my shop. Let me know if I can help in any way.

    Thanks everyone for sharing!
