    Red was my fave colour when I was little. My parents let me choose my own carpet when I was about 7. I made a beeline for the red shag (this was in 1970 or early 71). Crestfallen they kept saying, 'are you sure? you have to live with whatever you choose'...meaning of course THEY'D have to live with my choice. I said, 'yes this is what I want'. I loved it. And my mom admitted years later that it was the most durable carpet she'd ever seen.
