Finally, I Have a Plan

Finally, I feel like I am getting my business back on track.

But before I talk about business, I want to start with a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who follows my blog, comments, and shares their stories on Everyday Inspired!

I appreciate all of you and I have enjoyed getting to know you through blogging.

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE EVERYDAY INSPIRED COMMUNITY!

Now back to business

I wrote a couple of post last month My Struggles and Please Share Your Thoughts, sharing with you the struggles I have been having with my business and blogging. For a while I thought I was going to stop blogging all together, but I realized I would really miss the process.

As much as I feel like I am writing for myself most of the time, I have learned a lot, shared my story, and discovered new things about myself while blogging, and because of that I can't give it up all together.

As for my blog I have decided to move it to a different platform and a new format early next year. I wish I could work on it now, but as we move into the busy season I do not need another project.

So for the rest of this year I will post a couple times week with quotes and inspiring photos to help us stay motivated all season long. Doing these kinds of posts are just as important to me, and help me stay motivated as well.

I will also share with you new pieces, photos from shows, and any other tid bits that are happening in my life in a few random posts throughout the holiday season. You can also follow me on Instagram for more regular updates about my shop and life.

As for my business, I will be making some changes in 2015. A new website, another Etsy shop, a big push into wholesale, and a lot less stressing and more enjoying my business.

Overall I feel a little better now that I have a plan moving forward into 2015.

When you need a little motivation and inspiration, stop by Everyday Inspired for a little boost to help you get through your day. Even better, stop by every week for a burst of motivation all week long.

Are you ready to move forward into the busy season?

  1. I've reached a frustration level of epic proportions with my crafts. I'm not really looking forward to the Nov. craft show at all.

    1. I totally understand your frustration JoJo, that is how I felt all summer. Sometimes you just have to take a break, regroup, and when your ready come back for fresh start. I know you will get your crafting mojo back soon, and your show in November will be fantastic.

  2. I hear this often from so many bloggers .... we all hit a wall from time to time, and often think about just stopping all together. I know I have. But I would miss it - as you've said. But I do think it is important to take a break, before it is too late and you're too burnt out to go back to it. I'm glad you decided to stay! can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve for the first of the year :)

  3. Valerie, I am happy to hear you have caught your second wind and are feeling fresh motivations and inspirations. Sometimes I think the internet drains us of our energy and creativeness, when that happens we need to step back and ask ourselves; " Where am I and where do I really want to be? And how might I get to that destination?"
Those are tough questions and many times the answers aren't all that easy. But you are a very positive and a very "can do" type of young lady and I know without any doubt that you will make many wonderful and prosperous changes in the months ahead. Best of luck to you. :)

    1. Thanks Anna for your kind words and positive feedback! I agree being online all the time can be very draining creatively, and taking that time to step away can be very rejuvenating. It has been awhile but I am looking forward to moving on with my business. Thank you for always stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

  4. Hi Valerie!

I stepped away from blogging this summer, but I've been thinking about you!! I felt off track this year myself, which is partly why I haven't been saying much, I haven't known what to say! But I'm happy to hear you are feeling back on track with things.

I feel like I started over this year, failed, and then started over again. But it's all been part of the journey I suppose. I wanted a change this year, so I should have known that the first thing I tried may or may not have been a success. You know how it is when we try new things, sometimes we have to try, try again! Gosh I feel like my business has been that way all along. Someday I will hit the mark! :) And so will you. ♥

I love your blog, but personally (and I say this because I love you) I love reading posts like these, when you talk about your truest self, I love those posts the most. I think it's wonderful to talk about business and inspiration and I am always inspired by your blog, but some of my favorite (blogs) to read, are those who expose themselves a bit more... it makes us all feel more connected, and that our processes are real and imperfect, and that we are all in this together.

I don't know what direction you are going with your blog, but I sure enjoy getting to know you through your writing.

Best wishes for the holiday season, and your ideas for the new year!

    xoxo

  8. I'm excited that you have a new plan for next year! Sometimes what we're doing just isn't the right thing anymore, so it's smart to step back and reassess. I can see you doing really well with the push into wholesale since your items are so unique. I hope that takes a big weight off of your shoulders. :-)
