Let's Talk Books

I have mentioned it before, I love books.  I listen to books when I am creating, cooking, and cleaning,  and I try to read a book every night.

I am looking for some new titles to read and listen too.  I would like to put together a list of books to add to my summer reading.

I am currently reading Creativity is a Verb by Patti Digh, which is a great book so far. I just started it recently, but each night I can't wait to read another chapter.

So, what book have you read that has inspired you, and why?

  1. Ooh, I love love love books! I just recently read, and then reread, a book called "Annexed" by Sharon Dogar. It's written from the perspective of Peter van Pels and tells what it might have been like for him to live in the Secret Annex with Anne Frank and the six other Jews. It was incredible, I couldn't put it down. Books are amazing like that!

  3. Recently, I couldn't put down "Twenties Girl" by Sophie Kinsella. I love all her books - she wrote the "Confessions of a Shopaholic" series, and also writes under the name of Madeline Wickham. She's great for a light-hearted, funny read.

I'm also a big fan of Tom Robins (for a more deep, satirical mood), and my summer author this year is Agatha Christie (found a bunch of her books for half off and Barnes and Noble).

There's a series called "Dragonlance" (fantasy, dragons, magic, etc) that I got into a couple years ago, and every time I would pick it up, my brain would go into design mode, which was pretty cool. It inspired a bookshelf/coffee table that my dad helped me put together.

    I could go on... :P

  4. Thanks kziegler! I loved "Confessions of a Shopaholic" I may have to check out another one of her books. Agatha Christie has some great books, I read a few of those years ago and really enjoyed them. I haven't read any fantasy books in a long time thanks for all the suggestion.

Right now I'm reading a book about balancing the chakras, fantastic read... but I can't remember the title! (As you can see, Blogger is letting me comment again, I have a lot of catching up to do! :)
