Staying Postive

I am going to admit it has been a rough week.

My laptop got a virus and I have been working on our family desktop. That is fine but, all my information and photo's are on my laptop, so I have not added any new items to my shop and I have not done any paperwork I needed to get done for the end of the month. I do have some of my work backed up, but of course not what I need. So, just a reminder back up your computer often!

I had a great order, which the customer never paid for and now I have to cancel the sale. This makes me very sad, I could have used that money.

I realized I am not going to come close to any of my goals for the month of March, and I am going to have to work twice as hard to make it up next month.

I have been trying to stay positive through all of this, and some days it's harder then other's.

Today I would love to here some ideas on what you do to stay positive when things get tough. I think it is important to share ideas to keep each other motivated, so I will put all the ideas into a list and share them in a future post.

Thank you in advance for all your suggestions!

  1. I have shared this phrase my Mom drilled into me from a young age, "Rule your circumstances don't let them rule you!" It has helped me time and time again. Realize worse things could happen and that this too will pass. You can't help things that are out of our control. When I lost my son in a car accident in 2005 I had to draw inspiration from so many things to keep taking breaths, or even a step. I have survived while still having a broken heart. You too can do it, we are behind you! Pull up your boot straps and don't let this get you down!

  2. So sorry to hear this! We all have those days. When I do, I remind myself that it's fleeting and things will be better tomorrow.

Maybe this will make you feel better. I'm sending out your bag this weekend. :)

  3. Thanks Lafe and alamodestuff, I am working thing out, I took my computer in to be fixed, I canceled my sale, and I reworked my goals.

I guess you have to have a week like that every now and then.

Linda, I am very excited to get my new bag!

  4. I take a deep breath. I remember things like what Eleanor Roosevelt said: " A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water" and I believe Winston Churchill said: "Success consists of someone going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." That last one makes me laugh. Or I just think the rather mundane thought that my Mother taught me: "This too, shall pass." And then I breath again...and laugh. Take yourself out to dinner. I don't 'know you' but I hope that something I said helped! I remember one day when I was wearing my heart on my sleeve and a friend in an elevator said: "Karen...buck up!!" That helped too! Then I also remember, God is on my side. He cares for me. He cares for you too...So, don't sweat the small stuff! Carry on!

  5. ...And remember~~breath! Hope your day gets MUCH better!
    Sending you these:
    (5 smiles...!)
    and a
    Now you feel better!

  6. Karen, Thank You!!!

    Have a great weekend!
