5 Questions About Your Product

We make stuff, we sell stuff, but how often do we think about our product and why we create.

I am guilty of doing this all the time. I make stuff to sell stuff, even if it's not my favorite.

Taking the time to review our products is an important part of the marketing and selling process.

Today I have five questions for you to reflect on your product and discover something new about yourself and what you make.

1. Is it better to be good or original? Why?

2. What do you create that lets you be your most creative?

3. What do you create that offers the greatest potential to make a lot of money?

4. What is more important to you, to create for fun or money? Why?

5. How do you strike a balance between what you love to make and what will make you the most money?

Take your time with the questions. These question will give you a better understanding about why you create and where to focus your ideas to get to the next level. Once you have concluded what is important to you about creating, it will be easier to plan for what you need to create to achieve your goals.

Answering these questions was important part of my creative business redesign. I hope they will inspire you and your creative process.

How often do you review the products you offer?

Five Questions

I have had an enormous amount of work lately. Working around the clock on wholesale orders, Etsy sales, and future shows. It has been very challenging to keep up all my regular activities, (that includes commenting on all my favorite blogs) but I hope to be back on track soon.

Through this process I realized that I can't do everything, and that I needed to scale back on a few of my online activities and re-evaluate my the overall plan and vision for my business.

To figure things out I asked myself these five questions:

What is your vision?

What do you enjoy working on?

Are you exploring too many new directions? (list all your ideas)

What habits are you clinging to? (make a list)

Do you take more pleasure in having the idea or making that idea a reality?

Going through each question made me think about what I really wanted to achieve in my business and what was not really working. I knew I had to let a few things go, but until I saw everything written down on paper it was hard to decide what was not actually helping me and my business.

Print out the form with the five questions. Take some time to evaluate your business, to see what is working and what needs to be changed. When your done with your form, create a new plan getting rid of actives that are time consuming and not working.

You could use this form once a quarter, to help you stay on track. As well as at the end of the year for creating your new year plan.

We are already busy, why not make sure the work you are doing is going to help you achieve the success you desire.

Do you need to let go of a few actives that are not helping your business?

Five Questions

As online business owners, we know that their are certain times of year when business is slow, and  it is no fun when things are not selling.

Here are five questions to inspire you to come up with a plan to keep your business going strong during the lean times.

* What can you do offline to increase you income?

* What are five things you can do to boost your business right now?

* If your shop was closed down right now, what are you going to do to keep your income flowing?

* What do you need to stay motivated?

Take a few minutes and answer these five questions. Be as creative as you want, write out your answers, collage, or use paint, whatever inspirations you need to help you through the process.

Use the answers to your questions to create your plan, and how you are going to put your ideas into action. That way when business is slow you are a step ahead and you won't lose any income.
