It was a long process of finding models, choosing music, creating a runway plan, and getting everything coordinated for the event. Who knew there was so much working in prepping for something that only lasts for about 20 minutes.
It was a very long day of rehearsal, getting hair and make up done, and waiting around for the show to start. I think the waiting around was the hardest part.
Here are a few photos of the day and the event.

All and all it turned out to be a fantastic day. I was really tired when I got home (and the next day) but it was worth all the work I put into participating.
I am still honored to have my three pieces selected. I think I will apply again next year :)
Wow, what an exciting event. How cool to have your pieces on the run way! And your models look great along with your pieces :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Edi!! It was a great event.

ReplyDeleteThanks Paige!!
DeleteThey usually post about the application process in March. The gallery is Water Street Studios in Batavia, IL. Email me if you have any questions.
Congrats Valerie! I love to watch runways ... real life and TV!
ReplyDeleteFun-Tastic job!
Thanks Lana!!
DeleteThat's so cool!!!!!! Congratulations! Your pieces are lovely. Did you get them back afterwards or were they donated?
ReplyDeleteThanks JoJo!! My piece stay in the gallery until the end of October on display. They are for sale, so I only get them back if no one purchases them.
DeleteHow exciting and what an honor to have been accepted for such an event. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteLove your new pieces, they are beautiful and very different from the pieces you started out creating - these seem more sophisticated and feminine while those of a few years ago were far more casual, more for shorts or jeans and a tee shirt, or for very casual dress. I can see these pieces worn to the office as well as out to a fancy restaurant or to the theater.
Beautiful work Valerie. :)
