Please Share your Thoughts

Something has changed for me this summer. Not sure what it is, but I am struggling with my business and being motivated.

I have done a few things to get some momentum, but when I don't get the results I am looking for it is easy to let things slide. I want things to change and I want my momentum back, but I think I am going to have to do some reevaluating of my business plans.

I have really neglected the blog and visiting all my favorite blogs this summer. Taking a little time away has really made me think, do I want to keep blogging?

I spend a considerable amount to time researching and writing blog post that I hope are helpful and inspiring. I always wanted my blog to be a destination where you can get motivated, inspired, and tips you can put into action, but I am starting to think people are not really interested in that type of information.

What are your thoughts? Do you find the information usually found on Everyday Inspired helpful in your business and life?

Thou I have been struggling with my own business I have been helping my daughter get her business started. She is back in school now finishing up her last year in college, and she would like to graduate with her business already moving in the right direction.

It has been fun collaborating with her, and it has helped generate a few new ideas for something new I will be launching soon. Even with some new things in the pipeline I still want my current business to thrive and I need to get out of my slump.

I would LOVE to hear any ideas and suggestions for getting inspired, and your thoughts about the blog. Share your stories, throw out some ideas, any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

I will put together another post with your ideas and suggestions, so if anyone else needs a boost it will be here ready to access anytime.

Thank you all for following, reading, and commenting on Everyday Inspired! I appreciate all of you, and it has been wonderful getting to know everyone.  As I reevaluate my plans for the next few months I will keep you posted, so I hope you stop by and check out the updates.

Thanks,

  1. I enjoy your motivating posts. You always have great business tips.
I would also be interested in reading about your jewelry, the process, the pieces, etc. Even your daughter's business. I like a blog with a mix of topics.
As for business ideas, have you looked into the Etsy Wholesale program? This might be a great place for your jewelry :)

  2. Hi Valerie, I don't think I have ever commented here, but I want to tell you I enjoy your blog posts about inspiration and organization.

It seems like a lot of people don't follow blogs or blog as much as they once did (I'm one) so you might be feeling this in your need to re-evaluate.

I'm wondering what trend will come next, or if people even have the time anymore for social media... Good luck with all the new ideas you are bound to come up with. I'll be checking!

  3. Valerie, this summer has put a lot of us into a slump, it would be nice to believe that it is just the heat and that as the weather cools down things will pick up again. :)
I've been struggling with my own motivations for some time now and have found myself ignoring my blog and falling behind with visiting and reading the blogs of my favorite bloggers - such as your blog. To be honest blogging is time intensive and it does not guarantee success with one's online business nor with sales of one's products. This may be one reason that a number of bloggers have dropped out of blogging, I've witnessed a lot of them give up their blogs and take up residence on facebook.
Perhaps blogging is becoming "old hat" and other forms of online communications have taken center stage, but even Facebook and Twitter take time and they too do not guarantee sales. Your blog is always filled with good advice and lots of great inspiration . . . though sometimes it does helps to mix things up a bit . . . let people know a bit about yourself, post bits about a trip, or a night out with friends and family, etc. Like all people we get tired of the same diet of meat and potatoes and need that occasional , pizza dinner or slice of double chocolate cake. :D Speaking of which I really need to refresh my own blog but for some reason I just cannot find the enthusiasm to do so. :(

    1. Hi Anna,
Thank you so much for always sharing your insight! I value everything you have to share. Maybe your right and blogging is fading away as other social medias become more popular, and I agree that blogging and social media take up so much time and don't guarantee sales. Everyday Inspired did not evolve the way I really wanted it too, so now it is time to try something new. I hope you find the inspiration and enthusiasm you need to take care of your business.
