Put Your Favorite Quote Into Action

I love inspiring quotes and I use them all the time in my blog posts. I think those few simple words can give you the boost you need to get through your day.

It's also easy to read quotes, agree with the message, and just move onto something else not ever giving it a second thought. What if you were actually inspired by a quote and practiced it's wisdom.

I have come to realize that an inspiring quote can guide you to become the person you want to be.

Try this:

Find a quote, one that really hits home for you. Something that has meaning and inspires you to want to make it part of your everyday life.

Take that quote and turn it into something you can hang on your wall. Use paint, pencil, collage, or your computer, whatever medium you prefer, to make it work in your space.

Then break down the quote into steps you can incorporate into you daily life.

This is a favorite quote of mine. I am one of those people who is always full of ideas, but not very good at starting or finishing any of the big projects I want to do. This year I am going to step out of my box more and start doing all those things I really want to do. That's why I chose this quote to keep me motivated.

I started by creating a list of everything I want to achieve this year and then broke each idea down into action steps. I added these action steps to my daily calendar and each day I spend 15 - 30 minutes on a project I want to achieve.

Having this quote posted is a daily reminder of what I want to accomplish.  I can glance at it whenever I need a boost, and it's words can inspire me. Every quarter I am going to incorporate a new quote into my space, so inspiration is all around me all year long.

By finding one quote that will be your theme for a month, quarter, or the whole year is a great way to stay inspired to achieve all you want to achieve.

Those inspiring quotes should be more then something to quickly read and nod your head in agreement. Put them into actions and let them become part of your life.

Do you have a favorite quote that you have made part of your everyday life?

  1. My fave quote is from the musical 'Scrooge', it's the last thing that the Ghost of Christmas Present says to Scrooge. "There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can, in the time that you have. Remember Scrooge, time is short, and suddenly you're not there anymore."

  2. What a great idea. It's so easy to just nod in agreement but not really do anything about it, so I love your suggestions.

  3. This is why I love visiting your blog! Inspirational quotes can really make a difference in how your day is going. I also struggle at times applying them so I am liking the idea of posting a moving quote to keep it fresh on the brain to follow through!

  4. I love inspirational quotes, and have a Board on Pinterest - Words - to inspire me.

The quote I have in my creative work space is "Keep Calm and Carry On." During the Christmas rush and now during tax season, I need that daily reminder. Keep checking things off the list -- don't panic.

  5. I've had a favorite quote on a sticky note attached to my computer screen for a couple months now. This may finally inspire me to put it into a more permanent form that I can hang up or display!

  7. I have several pieces of quote artwork around the house. My favorite one sits on the desk in my studio and it says "handmade or never made." :-)

  8. Whoops, I mean "self-made or never made." I guess handmade would also work.

  9. I don't have too many encouraging prints in my apartment. The only one I have is an image of civil rights activists getting hosed with the word courage underneath. I got it in college because it really touched me. Whenever I see it, it reminds me of our far our country has come and how no matter how hard my life is right now it could have been worse. I've seen a lot of prints around Etsy that I really want to start putting up in my office.

I understand about having ideas but not starting or finishing. You have a good plan and I hope you let us know of your accomplishments!
