As much as I would love to have a house full of art, it is not in my budget to invest a lot of money into art. Over the years I have painted a few canvases, but I am not a painter and they were never what I really wanted. Recently I found a few ideas for adding art to your house that are inexpensive and easy to do, perfect for DIY Friday.

What kind of art have you created for your home?
LOVE the framed fabric (naturally) ;-) but the mini canvases are also great!
ReplyDeleteThose are some fantastic ideas! Last time my sister and I were together we painted a canvas together that now hangs in her house (she lives in New Zealand, I live in CT so we don't see each other often)
ReplyDeleteMy art is mostly in the knick knack form! I did put a couple melted crayon canvases up in my craft room. And I have a lot of my cross stitches up as well.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the first with the repair tape and canvas. very cool
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! I will definitely have to try something like this.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric squares! We have a lot of different art in our house. Some of it I've made, others we pick up on vacation, some are just pictures we took and printed out... We don't buy much "real" or "fancy" art either. I prefer something with personal meaning!
ReplyDeleteI love these ideas for the non-painter to actually create wall art! The fabric square look amazing. Since fabric comes in every color and such a variety of prints, the options are endless!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of framing fabric and papers- such a low budget way to get larger pieces too!
ReplyDeleteVery creative ideas! We tend to pick up art pieces on vacation - nothing pricey just something nice to remind us of our trip. We have a lot of pictures too, most of which I was the photographer and then I have tackled a few DIY art pieces - a couple were great and got hung up and some I'm afraid didn't turn out to be "wall worthy"!
ReplyDeleteThese are great ideas! They look so professional but all seem pretty simple and inexpensive. I especially like the mini canvas painting in the warm colors. Thanks for sharing this collection!
ReplyDeleteFabric squares, love it! Most of our art is framed photographs and counted cross-stitch of mine.
ReplyDeleteI love all of these diys, especially the tiny canvases. I have a few pieces of my own, but I also feel like it's hard to look at my own art all the time. I've bought a lot of beautiful (and inexpensive) prints from talented Etsy sellers that I'm in the process of framing to hang now actually. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the metal repair tape and chevron idea! And the hoops look great too!
ReplyDeleteThey are all wonderful ideals and are also fresh and novel. I'm not sure that I could pick out a favorite as they're all so lovely and unique.
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas!!! I really like the hoops and the cardboard. =0)
