When the weather is nice and you want to be outside, or your tired, or maybe just not in the mood to work, a little motivation goes a long way to helping you get your work done.
Here are five tips to help you stay motivated.
Remind yourself why you do what you do - a reminder goes a long way in motivating yourself to keep on working.
Make your environment comfortable - A change of location is always nice.
Schedule breaks - work a little, play a little. When you allow yourself some play time, working is a lot easier.
Alternate projects - working on a couple of projects at a time to keep your mind engaged.
Start a support group - talking or meeting with like minded people is a great way to stay inspired.
However you decide to motivate yourself, stay positive. A positive attitude is the best motivator of all!
How do you keep yourself motivated?
I usually have 2-3 projects going at a time. That really helps keep me going. When I'm tired with one thing, I can move to another and still stay productive :)
ReplyDeleteI have a few projects going at the same time too. Mostly b/c I always said that if I didn't have to work, I'd be a craft-making maniac. So I'm taking advantage of this opportunity! I find myself LESS motivated to clean the house though. Go figure. ;)
ReplyDeleteWorking second shift and getting called in alot on days off really takes a toll on the motivation factor. Usually a peak into my almost empty Zibbet shop or at my overflowing pile of ufo's usually does the trick though ;)

I must admit I am bad with breaks. Once I get to work there are no breaks. I can't afford to lose time, and totally forget to take a breath from time to time!
ReplyDeleteA lot of positive self talk always helps! Sunday mornings are tough because I get up and package orders while my boyfriend is still sleeping. Although that is the last thing I want to be doing first thing on Sunday I keep telling myself this is how I am going to reach my dream of self employment!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like that message on the poster!
ReplyDeleteMy greatest motivator are the bolts of fabrics nicely lined up on the shelves of my tiny studio. Just seeing them makes me come alive :)
