DIY Friday - Cork Art

I am not a big wine drinker, but I am learning to appreciate it. Luckily I have friends who do like wine and I now I have everyone on a mission to save their corks. Corks make very cool art for your home, and I see a cork mat in my future.

Today I have some fun ideas for using corks. Most of these project only take a few corks, so save up your corks and give these ideas try.

Wine cork balls
Cork candle holder
Cork coaster
Cork stamps
Wine Cork Mat
Have you ever created something with corks?

  1. I love that mat! We don't drink enough to get this many, but I think you can buy them, some people have tons and sell bunches of them.
    Great ideas here!

  2. I could not not be a wine drinker I think since I'm married to a French Canadian and we met in northern California! LOL
These are great ideas! My dad made a wreath out of corks once. There really are so many things you can do with them.

  5. Cork art, How creative. And what a great way to recycle. Like the candle holders, but loving the mat.
I am not a big wine drinker either, but my Sister certainly is, having a glass every night. Gonna have to tell her to start saving them corks. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Very cool!!

We always save our corks. We have a couple of glass vase/jars filled with them. When I cook a special meal or we've opened it for a special event, we always write on the cork. The date, the meal, the event. It's fun to go back through and remember all the special moments!

Finally back and trying to catch up on blogs and blogging!!

    Happy Weekend!

  10. Everything is so cute and creative! I haven't ever done anything with them... we are beer drinkers and only occasional wine drinkers. I am going to have to try it tho!

  12. I love those cork balls! I haven't made anything with wine corks yet - I used to save them but recently gave my stash to my mother (she as a stash for a "future project" that has been collecting for 7 years or so...).
