Today I have a list of everyday items that can be repurposed to aid you in your office and studio.
○ Old credit cards are great for applying paint and adhesives.
○ Egg cartons make perfect paint palettes, they are also good for holding small objects.
○ Old or scratched sheets of Plexiglas from picture frames makes a great cutting board.
○ Baby food jars are good for mixing and storing paint as well as holding small objects, like buttons, sewing supplies or safety pins.
○ Plastic soda bottles make great funnels. Cut off the bottom and they are ready to go.
○ Cardboard tubes like from paper towels are a great place to store paint brushes, just seal up one end.
These are just a few simple ideas to get you started. Once you start looking around your home you will see all the possibilities.
What ideas do you have to share for repurposing in your office and studio?
Great ideas! I love repurposing. Jars of all shapes and sizes are my favorite. Then I can see my supplies and they look so cute :)
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous recycling ideas! I love little jars for holding things. :) And I never thought about it, but you're right- egg cartons would make perfect palettes!
ReplyDeleteI have never really thought of re-purposing before. Besides shoe boxes! :P
ReplyDeleteI love using old glass as a paint palate--so much easier to clean than other palates.
ReplyDeleteI use old picture frames (with no pictures) and a gaggle of sticky notes to organize my thoughts for my blog. I also use paper towel/wrapping paper tubes for holding my maps while i transport them around town.
ReplyDeleteLove this!! Any everyday object can be used for like 10 different things! :D
ReplyDeleteSaves you money and also a great way to reuse and recycle! Some great tips there, thanks! :)
ReplyDeleteOK, this is kind of embarrising, but I like TV dinners. So when I'm home alone on a school day, I have a tv dinner for lunch. Too busy beading to actually make a nutritional lunch, I guess. Anyhow, the trays are excellent to dump beads into when you are getting your beading project started. Especially the ones with 3 compartments. And if you are like me and work on multiple projects, you can just stack them up, beads and all. - Debbie
ReplyDeleteI think heaven must be one giant repurposing city! Glory to Repurposing! GREAT blog.
