Personally, I've learned that it helps to a) keep a log of ideas and b) develop a schedule. Sometimes I'm stumped on my "free writing" days, though. But once I look around a really observe things and situations around me and/or in my reading material, then an idea will begin to develop.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. I know how you're feeling - BOY do I know! :)
I completely understand where you are coming from! The other night I got an idea for a blog when trying to go to sleep, so I got up, found some post-its and a pen in the dark, and scribbled my idea. This will be back up for those days when I don't have an idea in my head.
ReplyDeleteAnother things I have relied on lately are things right outside my door. One being how bad seeds, soil, and pesky squirrels ruined my sad little herb garden. The other was simply the view of our driveway. Just sitting for a minute or two looking at something sometimes is all is takes to get the words flowing. Also, music is a biggy for me. My outlet is Music Mondays. Good luck getting over your block! I enjoy your inspirational blogs, so keep up the good work!
Thanks Lori and Raige Creations for your ideas. I took a brisk walk this morning and I got lots of great ideas for next weeks posts. I just have to finish up this week and then I will be back on track. A good walk always helps, I should have done that yesterday:)
