I am getting buttitis (what my step dad used to call sitting for too long) from retaking all my listing photos and updating each and every tag, title, description. With over a hundred listings I am working through a little each day. The views seem to be ok, but no sales for a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteI would like to run a sale in my shop, but have no idea how you do a sale event on Etsy, so if any of you can give me a tip or point me to some reading on it, that would be great.
Until next time, TF
Gonna have to close up my zibbet account. Not enough time for sure but I really liked the set up over there. How are others doing on Zibbet?
Three things
ReplyDelete1. I love to laugh and make others laugh. My blog is intended to amuse you and keep you coming back! www.pantress.blogspot.com
2. I am a self taught "artist" It embarrasses me to do artist speak but I am a newbie and trying
3. I hope to someday be able to make a living out of jewelry. I want to combine what I make with pieces that I find in emerging global markets and sell them together. Can't do that on etsy so just thinking for now!

thanks for the space to talk.

1. I've decided to exploit the alphabet for my next set of notepads. Once I get more finished I will start putting them up. I'm hoping they take off, but I can't decide if I should make a listing for every letter of the alphabet? I've been told having more items in my shop will help sales. Should I do numbers too? They'll be sold in packs of 3 but you can pick which 3 letters you want. Check my shop in a week or so to see them http://kzieglerdesign.etsy.com
ReplyDelete2. I wish I was better at blogging. I've got plenty of ideas for it, and it should be great when it grows up, but I've never really been one for journaling. I guess I'll keep chugging along. http://kzieglerdesign.blogspot.com
3. I'm going to be starting a new project where I'm going to paint a line of music (treble and bass clef) on a canvas 2x7 feet, in brown, teal, and lime green (cream canvas). There will be 2 of them - some of my favorite excerpts. I love music, and I've always wanted art that went with my decor color scheme. Also there will be a large painted/fabric map of London, and a collage of all the fabric I've been using throughout my house. I'll post pics on my blog and facebook when it's done :)
Ms. T. Fishstabber I always have buttitis. I have had to force myself to get up each morning and walk so I get some exercise. I am going to be doing all that to my shop starting next week and throughout the summer. I found this link for a blog post about having a sale, Beth Cyr: How to have a Sale. I hope it helps. I have had no sales in my Zibbet shop but am going to keep my open until the end of the year and see how it goes. I am going to change my items up a bit and offer different styles in each shop so each shop has its own identity. So we will see how it goes. Let me know when you have your sale.
ReplyDeletePlantress, your work is lovely! Keep working in time you will be making a living from your jewelry.
kziegler, the alphabet note pads sound really cool, and I think numbers would be great too. Let us know when you get them listed in you shop.
I really enjoyed your blog. The post Top 7: Arty things I can't Leave the House Without is a great post! Your music art sounds really cool.
Thanks for the opportunity to share and to read about other followers of your blog!
ReplyDelete1. I recently visited the Tacoma, WA Museum of Glass and have put up the first of three posts about it. Glass artistry totally enthralls me, and I daydream of being able to blow my own glass beads for embellishment on my knitted and crocheted items.
2. Just started tweeting on Twitter. It's a hoot and similar to how my mind works. Random thoughts are always popping in, and with a whoosh they are gone. Twitter's the perfect place for me to put some of them down for posterity--if nothing else, for my own record.
3. Today's excitement for me is that the jumbo flyer for my spinning wheel has just arrived at my local yarn store. It will allow me to create bulky yarns in skeins with more abundant yardage.

buttitis!? I love it! I have had that before too! I wish I could say I have it now due to sitting too long creating a new item, but have found the nice weather has kept me from getting crocheting urge. I bought new stuff to make foot thongs, but just can't get the motion going!
ReplyDeleteAny motivational suggestions?
I can't even get a new Saturday Blog Shoppers Sale idea this week, so decided to ask my fans and followers what they want, and I will put it on sale this weekend. post your wishes on my blog and it will be on sale for you. Maybe that will motivate me. :)

thanks for letting me share my motivational miseries.
Sharon, The glass museum sounds like it was really cool. I hope to go visit it one day in the future. I love twitter too, its easy and fast, and I have met a lot of nice tweeters. Post your Twitter address so we can all follow.
ReplyDeleteRaige, I understand. Staying motivated is a challenge I have all the time. Lately I have been so busy with so many projects, that I create lists everyday just to stay on track. Here is a post I did last year about Planning a Creative Day. I do this every now and then, because sometimes I get so caught up working on the computer all the time I forget to make stuff.
If anyone has any other ideas for staying motivated, please share.
New materials? Hmmm...I'd have to say linoleum blocks. Learning to carve them has been an adventure by itself.
ReplyDeletePlaces I've visted - all in the Caribbean and Bahamas on two separate trips. Nassau, Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas and St. Maarten (the Dutch side). It included lots of snorkeling!
A blog post I have written that I'd like to share is one about struggling with depression, phobias, anxiety and PTSD. I hope that it offers hope and courage to someone who needs it:
